Learn the basic considerations of outdoor mosaics while creating
your own smooth garden stone (not a stepping stone!). During this
2-day class with mosaic artist Crystal Thomas, you will learn all
the basics of mosaic art: types of mosaic tesserae, cutting skills,
design, adhesives, grouting, and finishing. On the first day, we’ll
design, cut, and learn to use a weather-resistant adhesive.
Bring your own design, or find inspiration in a variety of provided
examples.
On the second day we’ll grout and clean our work,
and you’ll take home a beautiful piece of garden art. All
supplies (including your own tile nippers) will be provided for
a materials fee of $25.00.
Crystal, a member of the Society of American
Mosaic Artists, has a home studio in Woodinville, where she has
been creating mosaic art for the last decade. Her artwork can be
seen at CrystalThomasMosaics.com. Her work has also been displayed
in stores and galleries around the country.
